Leya Copper

Leya Copper is an InterVarsity alumna from California who moved to the Twin Cities in 2010. Since participating in the Oakland Urban Project (now BayUP) in 2005 she has been living and working in urban areas. As Leya got to know the Twin Cities her imagination for an Urban Project began to develop and with the help of community leaders the Twin Cities Urban Project is piloting it's first event. Leya works at the Bridge for Youth, an emergency youth shelter in Minneapolis, and lives in North Minneapolis. She has a BA from San Francisco State University in Child and Adolescent Development and an M.Ed. in Youth Development Leadership from the University of Minnesota. When she's not at work, you'll usually find Leya riding the greenway or sipping coffee at her local coffee shop.
