Milwaukee Urban Program

The Milwaukee Urban Program is an opportunity to see what God is doing in the city of Milwaukee and join in His work. During spring break we have a one week urban immersion trip where students serve and live in Milwaukee. In the morning we study the Bible to see how it relates to justice and racial reconciliation. In the afternoon we work with different ministry sites in Milwaukee, including schools, soup kitchens, and urban ecology sites. At night we take time to examine the issues in the city and how we can engage them. This trip is great for students who want to learn more about Christianity, want to see how their faith relates to culture, or are interested in urban ministry. We are also hoping to add a 3-4 week long summer immersion program for student leaders in the Lakes and Plains region in 2014. Students will experience incarnational ministry by living, going to church, and working in a neighborhood in Milwaukee.

Join us as we explore what God has to say about race, ethnicity and reconciliation in one of the most segregated cities in America. We will explore the book of Acts and how God pushed His church into His multiethnic misson, and wrestle with what it means for us today on campus.
