New York City Urban Project (NYCUP)

InterVarsity’s vision is to see lives transformed, campuses renewed and world-changers developed. In New York and New Jersey, we aim to reach as many people as possible, invite all to say “yes” to Jesus, and always develop leaders.

InterVarsity’s New York City Urban Project (NYCUP) develops leaders with the character and capacity to change the world. NYC is our world-class classroom to inform, inspire, and equip students to engage and act against injustice by joining God in the renewal of all things. Through our one day, week-long, and 4-6 week discipleship programs participants obtain practical steps to integrate biblical justice, stewardship and spiritual formation into their personal lives and the fabric of their campus, vocation and community around them.

SLIP is a residential program that uses New York City as a classroom to provide leadership, vocational clarity, and practical steps towards whole-life stewardship. Our SLIP will work with students to identify full-time internships that connect their area of interest or demonstrated capacity with NYC non-profits and traditional discipleship ministries with a focus on restorative biblical justice; as well as those interested in entering fashion, business, medicine or another sector of the marketplace.

InterVarsity’s New York City Urban Project exists to see leaders developed with the character and capacity to change the world.  We believe that every person is made in the image of God to flourish, work, rule and create and be stewards NOT consumers as God intended. This is the foundation of our LoGOFF Movement and REConciliation Week 2016.  The Catskills will be our world-class classroom for 5 days as we study scripture, pray fervently and respond actively to the commandment to love our neighbors as ourselves.
