Programs less than 4 weeks (registration fees only)

  • In the case of programs where students pay just a registration fee, use a Non-Donation Deposit Form to submit student application/registration fees to Accounting Services (not Donation Services as fees are NOT donations). Do not hold the checks for longer than one week.
  • Remember: Registration fees payments are not tax deductible. Thus, students must be clear that, if they are asking for donations for their registration fee, their donors will not receive a tax deductible receipt.
  • When accounting for your program, registration fee funds are entered as payments into the fee income line of the financial reports for the program.
  • If staff choose, they may raise donations for the program as a whole. These donations should be sent into Donation Services and are tax deductible. They will also be entered into the program account.
