If you intended to hire a person to cook for your program, there are strict requirements as to how that can be done (if you're wondering why, visit the Why It's Done This Way page):
The individual cooking must work professionally as a cook and have access to a commercial kitchen that follows food service laws and requirements. In this case, the individual will most likely be hirable as an independent contractor; OR
The individual cooking may be hired by your partner church. You may pay the church for the cook's services as part of your program expenses. A check request is used for this type of payment.
The individual CANNOT be hired as a temporary employee of InterVarsity. InterVarsity does not have the required permits to allow this. (Want more details about why? Visit the Why It's Done This Way page.)
